(Slovenščina) TESLA Award Open Call
Deadline: 15 May 2017

Win 3000€, a 6-8 weeks residency, production & presentation of a new artwork and more!

TESLA Award is the first competition in Slovenia focusing on new and progressive art forms, what we call transdisciplinary or intermedia art, in order to provide optimal conditions for selected artists to research, produce and present an entirely new artwork under the mentorship and assistance of MoTA – Museum of Transitory Art from Ljubljana. The aim of the award is to improve the conditions of artistic production in the field of transdisciplinary / intermedia art and thus respond to the growing interest in research-based practices in Slovenia and broader Balkan region, and consequently to follow the increased production in the field. Therefore TESLA does not only provide an artist fee, but also offers research- and production-based residencies (at V2_Lab for the Unstable Media in Rotterdam) as well as production and technical support in the process of creating the artwork.

Please note: In its first year, TESLA is awarded in partnership with the Summer Sessions program of V2_Lab.

– artists and creators (who originate) from Slovenia and/or who are based in Slovenia (citizenship is not required);
– artists and creators who work in the expanded field of transdisciplinary / intermedia art;
– artists under the age of 35

Museum of Transitory Art

MoTA –

Museum of Transitory Art

MoTA is a multidisciplinary platform dedicated to advancing the research, production and presentation of transitory, experimental, and live art forms.

MoTA is a museum without a permanent collection or a fixed space. Instead, its programs are realised in different locations and contexts in temporary physical and virtual spaces.

MoTA organizes and supports transitory art in the form of continuous events, exhibitions and educational programs both locally and internationally. As its name indicates, MoTA examines what a museum can be today and in the future.

MoTA is in constant search for the new, the uncertain, and the undefined.

MoTA works on several continuous programmes & projects. We run MoTA Point – a Space for Art & Ideas, we curate and produce the annual SONICA Festival, in addition to regular music programmes such as SONICA Series and SONICA Classics.

Within the years of running our residency programme we’ve established T.R.I.B.E. – a network of residency spaces in the Balkans & Eastern Europe.

We’ve also initiated the research and archive platforms ArtistTalk.eu and Mediateque MoTA & Tomaž Brate. Our educational programmes serve a broader audience with ongoing workshops, talks, symposia, and internships.
