T.R.I.B.E. – Exercises in Transitory Art (MoTA Editions # 2)
Our new edition TRIBE - Exercises in transitory art is out! A public presentation will be held at the MoTA Point on Tuesday, 9 September at 11 am.
MoTA –
Museum of Transitory Art
MoTA is a multidisciplinary platform dedicated to advancing the research, production and presentation of transitory, experimental, and live art forms.
MoTA is a museum without a permanent collection or a fixed space. Instead, its programs are realised in different locations and contexts in temporary physical and virtual spaces.
MoTA organizes and supports transitory art in the form of continuous events, exhibitions and educational programs both locally and internationally. As its name indicates, MoTA examines what a museum can be today and in the future.
MoTA is in constant search for the new, the uncertain, and the undefined.
MoTA works on several continuous programmes & projects. We run MoTA Point – a Space for Art & Ideas, we curate and produce the annual SONICA Festival, in addition to regular music programmes such as SONICA Series and SONICA Classics.
Within the years of running our residency programme, we’ve established T.R.I.B.E. – a network of residency spaces in the Balkans & Eastern Europe.
We’ve also initiated the research and archive platforms ArtistTalk.eu and Mediateque MoTA & Tomaž Brate. Our educational programmes serve a broader audience with ongoing workshops, talks, symposia, and internships.

M.A.P.S. – Mapping and Archiving Public Space
http://nonument.org
Nonument is an ongoing research and artistic project initiated by MoTA – Museum of Transitory Art from Ljubljana Slovenia, dedicated to archiving, mapping and studying the architectural heritage, monuments and public spaces of the 20th century. The Nonument Group, an international art collective, operates within the ambit of this platform. By staging artistic interventions, the collective calls attention to the importance of public spaces and the issues caused by nonsustainable management of architectural heritage. The Nonument website is part of the MAPS co-operation project. Six organisations have contributed to this database: CCEA (Prague), WH Media / Beamy Space (Vienna), Tačka Komunikacije (Belgrade), House of Humor and Satire (Gabrovo), ARTos Foundation (Nicosia) and MoTA – Museum of Transitory Art (Ljubljana). The project is co-financed by Creative Europe.

T.R.I.B.E. – Transitory Research Initiative in the Balkans and Eastern Europe
T.R.I.B.E. is a platform established to connect media-labs and artist-in-residency spaces in East Europe and the Balkans. All organizations involved are making the first steps to build AIR programs for production and research for experimental, digital and research art. The network encourages exchange between these places as well as production and touring of international transitory artworks.
All believe in building the infrastructure for artistic research, production and representation with the purpose to revitalize the either closed or just unfamiliar artistic scenes of the so called East.
With the planned strategy of targeted actions TRIBE aims to fulfill the following mission:
T.R.I.B.E. was built in partnership with CIANT (Prague), ARTos Foundation (Nicosia), BIS – Body Arts Association (Istanbul), Treći Beograd (Beograd) and In Situ Modern Art Foundation (Warszaw).

GALA – Green Art Lab Alliance
gala is a mycelium-like network of art organisations contributing to environmental sustainability through their creative practice.
Planetary health has reached its tipping point. We established our international and decentralised alliance as a way to amplify the voices of artists and art organisations responding to the various social and environmental issues that are a result of this. We act as a ‘knowledge alliance’; strategically sharing resources, information and solidarity. Since 2012 we have grown with partners in Europe, Asia and Latin-America. Our alliance connects and empowers art centres, museums, residencies, art collectives, activists and grassroots initiatives that are strongly embedded in their local communities. Though some are big and others small, what we have in common is that we all perceive the arts as a powerful resource for social and environmental justice. We are all committed to our co-written Manifesto and act according to our Objectives. We are a strategic alliance of mutual support.

The Green Art Lab Alliance (GALA) is a partnership between 19 European cultural organisations which aims to explore what environmental sustainability means for the visual arts and design. Together with designers, artists and scientists, the GALA partners investigate the challenges and opportunities that environmental sustainability implies for artists and art institutions. The overall aim is to share knowledge and raise awareness amongst artists, citizens and policy makers.
