Congress Square Ljubljana
Free entrance!

At the traditional series of June stage on Congress Square in Ljubljana we have seen duo Plaid, Wave Syria, Clark, Fennesz, Sculpture, Stellar Om Source, Random Logic, Bowrain, Niplodok, Izland and others. We have moved to Kino Šiška several times due to rain but the message persists: The artists from the field of contemporary electronics belong to the city summer festival. Therefore it is a great pleasure to announce that this years’ summer festival will be opened by Roly Porter with the support of Lifecutter and 5237.

Roly Porter is a master of immense cinematic landscapes leading from black holes to inverse explosions along with the birth and death of the stars. As part of the dubstep duo Vex’d (co-existed with Kuedo) Porter, besides the shift from the club sphere, brought echoes of rhythms to his performances which resonate in bass and synth lines in a slow and space atmosphere. After the exceptional albums Life Cycle of a Massive Star and Aftertime his last album entitled Third Law which he will be presenting on the summer festival in Ljubljana, seems more introspective, researchfull and full of extremes: silences and saturation of sounds through which Porter researches his club roots and disentangles them to another masterpiece.

The event will be introduced by performance of Lifecutter, well known from the noise duo Ontervjabbit and collaborations of different types. His lately more and more recognized project Lifecutter is marked by electrotechno experimental and is based on his live performance. Recently he had published two albums entitled Death(c)rave (Kamizdat, 2017) and Safe Place (2017) where besides techno and club elements one can mark industry and dark noise. Lifecutter will perform with the visuals by 5237.

Museum of Transitory Art

MoTA –

Museum of Transitory Art

MoTA is a multidisciplinary platform dedicated to advancing the research, production and presentation of transitory, experimental, and live art forms.

MoTA is a museum without a permanent collection or a fixed space. Instead, its programs are realised in different locations and contexts in temporary physical and virtual spaces.

MoTA organizes and supports transitory art in the form of continuous events, exhibitions and educational programs both locally and internationally. As its name indicates, MoTA examines what a museum can be today and in the future.

MoTA is in constant search for the new, the uncertain, and the undefined.

MoTA works on several continuous programmes & projects. We run MoTA Point – a Space for Art & Ideas, we curate and produce the annual SONICA Festival, in addition to regular music programmes such as SONICA Series and SONICA Classics.

Within the years of running our residency programme, we’ve established T.R.I.B.E. – a network of residency spaces in the Balkans & Eastern Europe.

We’ve also initiated the research and archive platforms ArtistTalk.eu and Mediateque MoTA & Tomaž Brate. Our educational programmes serve a broader audience with ongoing workshops, talks, symposia, and internships.
