Sonica x Zagreb w/ Kontejner & ZEZ

Last stop for SONICA’s international tour is Zagreb! We are teaming up with KONTEJNER | biro suvremene umjetničke prakse and ZEZ – Zavod za eksperimentalni zvuk to bring you a night of experimental live sound at the legendary club KSET. Slovenian vocalist and sound artist Irena Tomažin will perform for the first time together with Croatian percussionist, researcher of Balkan and West African rhythms Nenad Kovačić. Slovenian music improvisers and multi-instrumentalists Ana Kravanja and Samo Kutin, who have in the past decade collaborated within several music groups and improvisational bands, including Širom, Najoua in Olfamoštvo, will embark on a multi-cultural journey in the spirit of interconnecting regional and global musical traditions. Croatian musician Nenad Sinkauz, who often works with his brother Alen Sinkauz, we know them well from the Croatian-Italian experimental avant-rock band East Rodeo, and whos music includes scores for film and dance performances, will this time grace us with a solo performance. Slovenian sonic researcher, DJ, composer and keyboardist Miha Šajina – Shekuza will give a special modular live set, in a musical dialogue with classical percussionist Marko Jugović, and VJ Lina Rica. And for a steady ride into the night, we are bringing Barbarella and Gašper Torkar with a b2b DJ set. In short, a sonic gift for the end of the year that is definitely not to be missed.

Museum of Transitory Art

MoTA –

Museum of Transitory Art

MoTA is a multidisciplinary platform dedicated to advancing the research, production and presentation of transitory, experimental, and live art forms.

MoTA is a museum without a permanent collection or a fixed space. Instead, its programs are realised in different locations and contexts in temporary physical and virtual spaces.

MoTA organizes and supports transitory art in the form of continuous events, exhibitions and educational programs both locally and internationally. As its name indicates, MoTA examines what a museum can be today and in the future.

MoTA is in constant search for the new, the uncertain, and the undefined.

MoTA works on several continuous programmes & projects. We run MoTA Point – a Space for Art & Ideas, we curate and produce the annual SONICA Festival, in addition to regular music programmes such as SONICA Series and SONICA Classics.

Within the years of running our residency programme, we’ve established T.R.I.B.E. – a network of residency spaces in the Balkans & Eastern Europe.

We’ve also initiated the research and archive platforms ArtistTalk.eu and Mediateque MoTA & Tomaž Brate. Our educational programmes serve a broader audience with ongoing workshops, talks, symposia, and internships.
