Happy to finally reveal the full programme for SONICA 2025: -STREAM This year’s lineup includes three festival nights at the CD Club /Cankarjev dom, Cukrarna.art and Kino Šiška, a festival pre-event with an AV programme at Slovenska kinoteka and an exhibition at the MSUM.

We’re excited to announce the ‘Machines’ show by UK bass music visionary The Bug and the mind-bending AV show by the Japanese gabber/black metal/IDM phenomenon VMO Violent Magic Orchestra!
We’re also hosting the ‘Spectral Evolution’ show (one of the most critically acclaimed records of 2024!) by Portuguese guitar virtuoso Rafael Toral Rafael Toral, the ‘Etna Sessions’ AV show by Mexican electronic music hero Murcof and the playful performance ‘The Infinite Hip-Hop Song Live!’ by Egyptian artist and musician Hassan Khan, winner of the Silver Lion at the 2017 Venice Biennale.
Also joining the line-up are Hungarian IDM trailblazer Gábor Lázár, Polish multi-instrumentalist and singer Antonina Nowacka (SHAPE+), Slovenian musician/producer Stamor with the live debut of his album ‘The Absurd’ (2024), Slovenian ambassador of experimental techno/dark ambien Lifecutter with the live premiere of his new album DELUGE (2025), Slovenian electronic music don Nitz with a special live to projection performance The Constants of Vanishing and closing DJ set by Ljubljana techno boss Shekuza/Miha Šajina.
As part of the SONICA x SHAPE platform residency 2025, German electronic producer PYUR (Official) (SHAPE+) and the Slovenian multidisciplinary art collective Beam Team will premiere their new show.
We are kicking things off on 1 April with the opening of an exhibition by Slovenian artist Vesna Petresin at MSUM, followed by a performance by Croatian musician and sound artist tonota (SHAPE+).
