You are cordially invited to the official event of the European Capital of Culture 2025 Nova Gorica – Gorica, the opening of the exhibition Shining Invisible City by the Nonument Group and architect Eva Sušnik, which maps the shining invisible points of Nova Gorica. The opening of the exhibition will be followed by an accompanying DJ programme with Jaša Bužinel and Zvèn.

The exhibition explores and highlights demolished, rebuilt, half-built, abandoned and unrealised projects: public spaces, buildings and other architectural elements that were conceived with love and devotion to the “City of Roses”, but are now invisible in physical space. It is precisely through these voids and unfinished developments, which give the city the dual image of an unattainable ideal and an eternal construction site, that the city retains the veneer of the utopian city that usually disappears so quickly from realised utopias. The exhibition presents an image of another, hypothetical Nova Gorica, where we might live if all these projects, invisible today, were realised.
