Ema Maznik Antić: Goaders
10–27 September 2026
Sonic Pavilion, MoTA LAB
Opening: Thu, 10 September, 7 pm
Exhibition: 10-27 September
Goaders
A missing stair incites jumping. A ledge can become a perch; a slope, a slide. The exhibition takes this capacity as a point of departure for an experiment in nomadic site-specificity.
What remains materially specific when the practice leaves the site? Could material specificity lie in the possibilities that certain material conditions afford? The practice develops through encounters with landscapes undergoing processes of decay. Goaders / Poganjači moves this practice into the exhibition space, attempting to recreate elsewhere the material conditions that make this mode of attention possible.
Bio
Ema Maznik Antić is a visual artist based in Ljubljana, working primarily with installation. Her work is concerned with material environments and the ways they are encountered and inhabited. Her practice is informed by lurking and following spatial curiosities as much as by making. Part of her practice is developed in collaboration with artist Maks Bricelj.
In 2023, they presented the solo exhibition High-res Prints for Burial T-shirts. Their recent group exhibitions include The Vast Automaton at the 5th Industrial Art Biennial (2025) and Adaptation (2023). In 2022, Maznik Antić also participated in the group exhibition Plaza Protocol – Deposit.
MoTA LAB’s Sonic Pavilion is a new gallery facing Tivoli Park. Its transparent structure and distinctive architecture allow for varied spatial setups and experiments with intermedia, sound, and research-based artworks. From September to December, MoTA Lab will host four exhibitions, an immersive artist talk, the premiere of the SONICA 2026 festival residency and an accompanying discursive programme.
