November 16th, Nonument Group is presenting its award-winning augmented reality work Nonument01: Mckeldin Fountain at the Creative Time Summit X I Speaking Truth Summit in New York where the McKeldin Fountain will take over Washington Square Park.

Via augmented reality we are taking you on a virtual field trip to Baltimore to experience the demolished brutalist gem from the1980s: the multi-storey utopian fountain designed by architect Thomas Todd. Once a designated free speech zone and location of protests such as Occupy Baltimore and Black Lives Matter was ultimately demolished in 2017 and replaced by a grassy field. However, the virtual memorial to the lost architecture and voices that used to populate the community area remain for everyone to experience.

Creative Time Summit is an annual gathering for thinkers, dreamers, and doers working at the intersection of art and politics. In it’s 10th-anniversary it is promising a weekend exploration into radical truth-telling and its implications, manifestations, potentialities, and challenges in the age of disillusion. With the hope of providing strategies for social change in local and global contexts.

Creative Time is a leading non-profit organization that has over the past four decades commissioned and presented the most innovative and ambitious public art projects with thousands of artists throughout New York City, across the country and around the world.

Nonument Group is an international multidisciplinary artist collective founded in 2011. Starting as a research group focusing on hidden, abandoned, unwanted or otherwise forgotten 20th-century monuments, architecture and public spaces, the group has since carried out several artistic interventions in public spaces. The group’s research and artistic production address questions of memory, representation, semantics and other aspects of monumentalism, as well as attempts to publicly address the perception of public space and its role in everyday urban life.

Museum of Transitory Art

MoTA –

Museum of Transitory Art

MoTA is a multidisciplinary platform dedicated to advancing the research, production and presentation of transitory, experimental, and live art forms.

MoTA is a museum without a permanent collection or a fixed space. Instead, its programs are realised in different locations and contexts in temporary physical and virtual spaces.

MoTA organizes and supports transitory art in the form of continuous events, exhibitions and educational programs both locally and internationally. As its name indicates, MoTA examines what a museum can be today and in the future.

MoTA is in constant search for the new, the uncertain, and the undefined.

MoTA works on several continuous programmes & projects. We run MoTA Point – a Space for Art & Ideas, we curate and produce the annual SONICA Festival, in addition to regular music programmes such as SONICA Series and SONICA Classics.

Within the years of running our residency programme, we’ve established T.R.I.B.E. – a network of residency spaces in the Balkans & Eastern Europe.

We’ve also initiated the research and archive platforms ArtistTalk.eu and Mediateque MoTA & Tomaž Brate. Our educational programmes serve a broader audience with ongoing workshops, talks, symposia, and internships.
